As Deacons and members of this Christian community, we are called to follow Jesus Christ and obey His commandments to love God and to love one another.
As an integral part of the Nurture Ministry, it is our mission to spiritually nurture and care for the congregation of this church. To best accomplish this, we have created Shepherding Groups. Each Deacon serves as a Shepherd for an assigned group of members of the congregation. The role of a Shepherd includes: Acting as a personal liaison to the church; arranging for meals or rides in times of need, such as illness, injury or family crisis; maintaining contact and being aware of prayer needs. A Shepherd gathers in his or her “flock” to ensure that each individual is cared for and included in the life of our church.
If church members or friends of the church have questions about being in a Shepherding Group, please contact the church office or Deacon Moderator. Your questions will be directed to your Deacon Shepherd who will then contact you.
Other responsibilities of the Deacons include: creating and mailing “care packages” to our college students and family members away on military assignments and supporting Mission Ministry projects.
The Deacons have created an e-Prayer Circle, enabling prayer requests to be known and prayed about through the use of email. All members and friends of the church are encouraged to submit prayers and pray for each other.
If you wish to join the e-Prayer Circle or submit a prayer request, contact Lois Dunikowski at

The Deacons encourage you to sign up for “Angels on Call.” We need “Angels” to cook meals for or give rides to members of our faith family who are in need, or provide emergency child care. The sign-up sheet is in the Denniston Room/church office. You can also call the office and ask to be added to the list.
