In 2015 LouAnne Blanchard and Lois Dunikowski planted the seed for this community mission project to feed children in need in the Washingtonville Central School District. Food for Kids has its central storage and packing location at the former St. Mary's Parish Center which has become a central location for community-based missions including the Country Kids Food Pantry and The Country Thrift Store. Working closely with area churches and other organizations, we provide backpacks of food for children at Taft, Little Britain, Round Hill Elementary School and the Middle School who qualify and opt into the program during the school year. In 2020 we began to include high school students in our program.
We are excited to be a part of this community-wide mission. Anyone from the community can volunteer of their time, talents and treasure to this mission.
Please let us know if you would like to get involved by calling the church office or leaving a message on the FOOD FOR KIDS website: FoodforKidsWVL.org
A free summer lunch program has been developed as an extension of the Food for Kids weekend food program during the school year. Last summer there were over 8,000 bag lunches to-go served.

WALK FOR HOUSING
On April 23, 2019, Habitat for Humanity of Newburgh held its annual event to raise money for building affordable housing in Newburgh for low-income families.
Pastor Martha, Lois Dunikowski and Nancy Popoloski participated as PresbyBuild FPCW support of this effort. Sponsorships for their walk added up to a donation of over $700 to this worthy cause.
